CALLIGRAPHY? 


While I personally have never mastered the art of calligraphy, I have worked with and highly recommend "Calligraphy by Jennifer" at www.calligraphybyjennifer.net or Angela Neik at www.calligraphybyangela.com. Both are wonderful and their work is sublime! Prices vary, based upon the complexity and amount of calligraphy required. Generally pricing starts around $2.00 per piece per side ($4.00 for guest address on front of envelope and return address on the back flap). 


An alternate solution: I suggest the use of computer addressing if calligraphy is out of your budget but you would still like a beautiful presentation for your envelopes - see the above mentioned question: "Do You Offer Address Service?"

CAN I GET A SAMPLE?


Without a design consultation retainer, I am unable to send out customized samples, however, I can send up to 3 samples of previous projects for a set price of $15.00 (covers shipping and handling), please contact me at 7022906805 or cathy@1stimpressionsinvitations.com to arrange a sample set.

Each client is special and different, so let's sit down and discuss your specific needs and wants for your special event and I will build a project specific for you.

WHAT ABOUT ADDRESSING? 


Absolutely! If the thought of addressing, stamping, and sealing all of your invitations makes you queasy, worry not! I am happy to do that for you with our addressing service option!


Simply send me your guests' address list and I will address, return address, and take care of the shipping and handling of all your invitation needs!


Individual Address Pricing is approximately as follows (cost of stamps varies based upon weight and size of invitation):


Addressing service @ approximately $2.00 per invitation plus the cost of your stamps, varies according to weight and size of invitation. Please note that postage for an invitation is almost certainly more expensive than a traditional letter as generally invitations weigh more and are not traditional letter sized. 

HOW LONG DOES A PROJECT TAKE?


Most projects, from the personal consultation through the design process to complete invitations in hand takes approximately 8 weeks. However, if the design and production is more complex, it can take more time. Rush service is available for faster projects. Please remember that your invitations should go out anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months prior to your special event. Plan accordingly for the beginning of your custom invitation design.

HOW MUCH DO INVITATIONS COST?


As a custom company, there is no set price. Much like a construction company, the cost is based upon supplies plus labor, so the more complex a project, the more costly it becomes. Simple elegant invitations - double sided invite, RSVP postcard, outer envelope, start around $5.50 each. Looking at last year, the majority of my clients spent between $8-$12/invitation portfolio - pocket invitation with inserts. All my pricing includes the custom design, printing, production, and assembly. To give you a more complete idea, please view the estimated price sheet.

WHEN SHOULD I MAIL MY INVITATIONS? 


Proper etiquette suggests 6-8 weeks prior to the event as the ideal mailing time. If you have several guests coming in from out of town, I would suggest 8-12 weeks prior to give your guests ample time to make their travel arrangements. Keep in mind that the creative process takes approximately 8 weeks, so start early to avoid rush service fees! (I'd recommend starting your invitation design process 5-6 months prior to the wedding date)

HOW MANY INVITATIONS SHOULD I ORDER? 


A good rule of thumb is to count the number of guests, divide by 2 (as most of your guests will be couples or families) and add 15-20 for the singles on your list. It is ALWAYS better to order more than you will need as late re-printing is very expensive. I usually suggest that you add an additional 5-10 invitations to the the amount you think you will need to ensure you have more than enough.
